Summer 2017 in 80 photos

I’m sat in my fleeze in my living room waiting for work and uni to start back up in the coming weeks; all this means that summer 2017 is over.

I’ve honestly had the best season in a very long time. I’ve worked ridiculous hours in ridiculous conditions, seen and experienced things I never thought I would, created memories with friends that will last a lifetime.

To everyone who has been with me in this crazy ride we’ve called summer and festival season: thank you for everything and I love you so much.

Last night.

It’s the last few hours of the last night that I live in London, at least for now. And as tomorrow approaches I’ve come to think back on this last year where I’ve lived my day to day in the amazing, vibrant, wondrous place that is the City of London.

For years I had been dreaming about moving over here but I’d never in a billion years would have thought that it’d be as amazing has it’s been. All the opportunities I’ve had, all the adventures I’ve been on and concerts I’ve been to, but most of all, all the friends I’ve made.

I’ve been to so many concerts this past year, so many random, last minute gigs that I heard about through some friend who texted me, or even through facebook. I have broadened my music horizons so much because of all the people I’ve discovered and all the music my friends have sent me. I have discovered my true passion for live music.

I’ve experienced working at a venue where I’ve done the stage thing, where I was the one setting up the rig and making sure everything worked so Will could do the sound engineering. I’ve been the one introducing myself to artists in the street telling them that we need to work together. I have the most amazing job, which I absolutely love, at one of the most well known venues in Europe. I’ve worked with my lecturer at the UK Beatbox Championship and at this intimate launch event. I have worked at eight festivals this summer of which one is Glastonbury, freaking Glastonbury! I’ve had so many opportunities this year in live music that I can not thank my lucky stars enough for.

Last night I went to a goodbye concert for this artis who I did sound engineering for a while back and just saying goodbye to him brought a tear to my eye, so sitting here, having to write this makes me cry even more. Even though I know I’m coming back to London on Tuesday for the rest of the week, the worst part about leaving London is leaving all my friends. I’ve met so many amazing people over this year, so many true friends, the kind of friends who will help you out in the darkest of times, who don’t mind it when you call them crying in the middle of the night or talk about the same boy for hours and hours, the kind of people who will offer you their house when you have nowhere to live or help you find something else. The sort of people who are passionate, and bright, and loyal, and loving, supporting, caring, and I could list a thousand other characteristics that my friends here have but I’d be sat here until the early hours in the morning and we just can’t have that. I want to thank you all for taking such amazing good care of me and for letting me be a part of your lives this year. Don’t go thinking you’re getting rid of me, because you’re not, I just wanted to thank you for the time that has been up until now and for the many many years to come.

I guess I’m just feeling very emotional and wish I could pack you all up and take you with me to Brighton, but I know I can’t, and I know that everyone has their own life and we all need to follow our dreams (wherever the darn things might take us) but just know that I love every single one of you.

So here’s to more amazing memories and to the many many years to come. I might be moving, but I’m not disappearing and you’re sure as h not getting rid of me that easy.

Snowboard Canada's - RELAX.mp4_snapshot_03.55_[2012.11.22_16.46.32]

It’s been a stressful few months and I have a few more stressful months ahead so I’ve had to find myself things to relax and breathe.

The first thing I do, and I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember, is I spend time alone. Not only so I can get stuff done, but time alone where I can re-charge my batteries and just remember to take care of myself. It can be a very long shower, watching a few episodes of a show or just laying in bed for 1h when I wake up doing nothing but relaxing and enjoying my ever so rare lie-in.

Sometimes I might have spent so much time on my own working that I just need to get out of my own bubble and enjoy some time with my friends. I’ve been loving the nice summer weather we had two weeks ago where we were able to spend some time outside, but I’ve also been loving them nights at the pub or at my friends house.

Going for walks has become one of my things to do as well. If I can walk there I will, specially if it’s a beautiful day! The other day I was in Southbank and I just went for a stroll, without even noticing it I ended up by Buckingham Palace! (if you know London, that’s quite the way to walk without realising it!)

When I go on these walks I’ve started picking up my phone, unable to help myself I’ve started taking pictures, and I’ve fallen in love with photography all over again. I guess two years away from studying photography and being forced to take boring photos every week that then will get judged in front of 16 other people by a very hard teacher is just what I needed to fall in love with it like I did the first time around. I can not help but see my life and the world with a more creative eye and then I’m just snapping away! I can not wait for my new camera to get here so I can take even better photos 🙂

One of my all time passions has been music and live concerts. Because of where I work, where I live, the school I go to and the friends I have I’ve been going to concerts at least three to four times a month, which I never would have thought I’d be able to do! This relaxes me as well. Just being able to go somewhere, have a drink with your friends, a nice conversation and then see someone get on a stage and play the music they love and, most times, have composed themselves. There’s just something magical about it!

My boyfriend and I have also started colouring in “adult colouring books” (I don’t know what the difference between an adult and a child one is, but that’s what they’re called..) I’ve always loved doing things with my hands like building things, drawing, colouring, cooking… And colouring has now taken over my life a bit haha!

So, there you go! Some of the things I do to relax and re-charge the good old batteries!

Hope you are all having a lovely Bank Holiday Monday!

All the love!

Christmas Day.

It’s Christmas Day everyone! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I’m now at home, been at home for two days, ish.. Getting here was a complete struggle tbh but I got here only having slept for 2.30h on the flight haha! Ate at my second family’s home, came to my actual house and started going through all of the things I own. Let me explain. I’ve moved quite a lot since moving out of home almost five years ago, but I’ve always had my parents home as “home base” so every time I’ve had something that I didn’t want to keep wherever I was living at that point in time but didn’t want to throw away either I’d pack it up in a box and send it on its way. Hence the eight boxes of stuff I had back here waiting for me… It took me about three hours to go through said eight boxes plus all the shit I had in my suitcase that I was going to leave here. At the end of it all I ended up with three boxes and about half a suitcase… I threw away LOADS of shit haha!

Yesterday was another good day here in Spain. I met up with my amazing friend Adela and we went for a drink with some other friends in the morning before lunch, then we came home to mine and ate with my sister and mum. After a much needed siesta all four of us got in to the car, I dropped mum and sis at work and Adela at home and I went to a shopping centre to kill some time before having to pick mum and sis up from work again. I ended up waiting in the car for an hour because they closed the shop an hour later that what they were supposed to do, but I guess if business is good it doesn’t matter that I had to wait for a bit.. What I did do yesterday was drive for the first time in a year! Glad to report that no one was killed, the car is still in perfect-ish condition and I didn’t get a ticket! 🙂

Today it’s Christmas Day! As such I got attacked in bed by my sister, then my dad and in the end I gave in and we called over mum and we had a lovely family cuddle! Then breakfast and TV with the fam, Christmas lunch with the fam and then present opening whilst skyping with grandma and grandpa (they had to be here in some way, can’t have a family Christmas if half of the family is missing now can we?) After present opening we watched a film and then dad went to bed. Us girls have watched “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” and I’m now off to bed.
I think this is the first day in… literally ever that the whole Nilsson-Pettersson clan has done everything together! CUDDLES ALL AROUND!

Tomorrow should be another interesting day back home since I’m going out partying in town with my old class haha! I’ll report back!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (if you celebrate it) full with loved ones and happy memories 🙂

Loads of love from little old me 🙂

Five Days.

I’m going home in five days. I haven’t been home in a year so I’m both super excited and terrified.

How much will things have changed this time around? How much have I changed? Will it be the same heartbreak as usual? How much drama will two weeks bring in to my life? How much will I be let down?

I can honestly say that there’s about ten people I want to see, appart from my family, and half of them will let me down. It might seem depressing or like I’m not giving people a chance, but I know how this goes, I’ve seen how it unfolds the same way over and over again every time I’ve gone back home for the past four years.

I’d like to think I’m ready for the heartache that I’m getting myself in to but I know that me being the sentimental being that I am I’ll be very happy to get on the flight back to London on the 6th. Just writing this I’m already getting that sad feeling that I get over and over again whilst being at home..

Let’s hope I’m wrong, let’s hope this Christmas season at home will only bring happiness and love. I don’t want heartache, I don’t want to be let down, I just want to see my friends and family and have a great time at home.

Missed Me?

I’m obsessed with Wild. Obsessed I tell you!

Oh, hi! Hello, how are you? Do you remember me? The person who used to blog every day? Yes, that’s me, still here, still alive haha! I’ve been very bussy and just extremely lazy since I got back from America, hence the no blogging, but I believe it’s time to write some wrongs (see what I did there?)

So, what’s been going on in my life you ask? Well America was super fun, as you can probably tell from that extremely long blog post about it and all of my vlogs ( shame on you if you’re not a subscriber). Then I battled jetlag and spent some much needed time with Hanna, she’s moving back to Sweden shortly you see, so I’m trying to squeeze in as much Hanna-time as I can before a whole winter without her 😦 Her friend from back home was here as well that first week so I spent a lot of time with them both doing a lot of fun things. We did go to the Notting Hill Carnival but that was no succes, I’ll try it out next year as well, see if that works out better haha!

During this no-blogging time I’ve also had the chance to meet up with my old host family, yes Mr. Boss Man and C! We went out for lunch and spent a wonderful day in South Bank. It’s always super nice seeing them, I do actually miss them sometimes! They’d been to Dubai so C was super excited telling me all about her fun adventures over there, looks like she enjoyed herself. Then again, what kid in Dubai doesn’t enjoy themselves? Haha!

On September 1st my very very close friend Adela came to visit me and she’s been staying with me until this morning. I’d say we’ve probably done it all honestly haha! The first day was a very touristy day, tourist bus, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Tower Of London… Everything! The next day we went to Fulham where we got matching tattoos *cringe* and had dinner at Carmi’s pub so them two met. Friday we went shopping in Oxford Street, a must! Saturday we had a cheeky little photoshoot. As you know I love modelling and I know Adela has done some shoots back in Spain with a photographer friend of ours so I got her this little present where we went and did our very first shoot together and we got some lovely images, if I might say so myself! Sunday we went to GAY Late, I had to show her the amazingness of a gay bar! I actually quite enjoy a gay bar more than a “normal” one for the simple reason that no one judges anyone because everyone is “different”. We had a blast even though it took us forever to get home, haha! Monday we took some bikes and rode through Hyde Park and Green park stopping for a cheeky ice-cream by the pond. Also, we went to see the palace and the horse guard, because again, tourist musts. Tuesday I was supposed to babysit but that got cancelled so we spent the day at home and then took a walk through London at night. Honestly if you do one thing whilst in London do that, take a walk through it at night, it’s so beautiful. We went from Oxford Circus down Regent Street to Piccadilly, from there we went on to Trafalgar Square, down to embankment and walked to Waterloo Bridge before crossing over to South Bank and walking to Big Ben and on to the Palace again. From there we took a bus home haha! It’s quite a long walk but you get so captivated by everything that before we knew it we were out and had been walking for about 3h. Wednesday, what did we do on Wednesday? Oh yes, we went to Camden, because she can’t leave London without having been to Camden! We got gorgeous Henna Tattoos and came back home. Yesterday was a day of packing, she packed her suitcase and I packed most of my things. Then we went to Carmi’s pub again, had dinner and played a game they have there on Thursdays. We lost. When we admitted defeat we made our way to the airport and “slept” there. At 5.30am she walked through security and I headed back home.

When I got home at 8am I fell straight asleep waking up at 2.30pm. Sleep was much needed.

I have now showered, watched some Reign and I am now thinking about food. Maybe eating something at some point, like right now..

So there’s an update on my life. Also today is my one year anniversary in England, so YAY ME!

I now need to eat some food before I eat my laptop. LOVES YA! ❤

Amazing Human.

His name is Chris Thompson.

The other day I met one of the most amazing humans ever, here’s how it happened.

Chris is a youtuber that my mother showed me about two years ago and that posts videos every single day as he would say. He makes videos about every topic you could think of, from LGBTQ+ issues to human rights to just whatever. He’s not one of the “normal” youtubers like Zoella, Pointless Blog or Marcus Butler because he’s true to himself and makes the videos that he wants to make not the videos people want to see, if that makes any sense at all.

So basically Chris has been backpacking through Europe for the past two months and finally made it to London on Tuesday (if my memory doesn’t fail me) and so on Wednesday he had a little meet-up with us London SupdailyCrew (his fans basically). So I headed off to the Jubilee Gardens and met up with him and the other amazing humans that were there. We talked and talked and got to know one another and then it started raining so we moved the party to a pub.

Here Chris came over to the little group of girls I was sitting with and just sat and chatted with us for the four coming hours. And again, we talked about everything and got to know this amazing human that I’ve been following online for two years (which is not as creepy as it sounds, promise!)

I can honestly say that Chris is as amazing in real life as he is in his youtube videos. He’s a very straight forward person that will say exactly what is on his mind but in a very respectful and explaining way. He’s scary good at reading people and phsycoanalizing them, which I find fascinating and super scary at the same time haha! He was just interesting to talk to and to listen to, it didn’t feel like he thought he was in any way better than us others, he was there as a person and not as a youtube celebrity which I quite enjoyed because we got to talk to Chris and not “Chris Thompson from youtube”.

So to Chris, thank you for taking the time to meet with us all and to chat with us. You didn’t have to, but you did and that just made me respect and admire the type of person you are so much more.
To the rest of the SupdailyCrew that was there, it was a pleasure meeting you all lovely humans and I do hope we can keep in touch because likeminded people are hard to find so you should hold on to them when you do!

Here are some photos of the day and one of my fave Chris videos ever!
